Buck Hill Flags
My name is Paul and I am a Civil War reenactor with the 33rd AL/6th IN based in central Alabama. I started making flags just to see if I could. Since that time I have come to really enjoy the fabrication of flags. The research and sewing can consume you if you’re not careful. So far I have done only Confederate style with my focus on the Hardee pattern, but am expanding all the time. I always try to use the most correct material that I can find and do my best to replicate the font used for battle honors or reproduce any pictures painted on the original flag. Recently I have been asked to make special flags for units deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. This has been more of an honor that I could ever put into words. To know that my flags will be part of a tradition and hopefully unit pride by the men and women in harm’s way is just awesome! Please take a moment to thank a veteran the next time you see them, say welcome home to a Vietnam vet, fly your American flag, be proud of who we are. Thank you.
